GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota men's basketball team will open its 2026-27 season on the road against Minnesota on Monday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the historic Barn.

Monday's contest marks the 23rd meeting between the two programs, with eight of the previous matchups taking place in the Twin Cities. Minnesota has won the last 14 meetings against the Fighting Hawks.

The 2026-27 campaign marks the eighth season under Head Coach Paul Sather. North Dakota returns three players from last year's squad in Josh Jones, Zach Kraft and Karson Ouse.

The Fighting Hawks also welcome seven transfers and four freshmen to this year's roster. Luke Winkel joins North Dakota after spending two seasons at St. Cloud State, where he was a starting guard. Tyler Wagner (Austin Peay) and Samuel Hincaipe (Le Moyne) also join the Fighting Hawks after competing at the Division I level last season.

Daemon Ely (Angelina), Zach Parts (Mid-Michigan) and Jayden Thomas (Lee) arrive in Grand Forks after competing at the junior college level.

Andrija Radojevic joins North Dakota after competing professionally in his native Serbia. He spent time with Mladost SO and is expected to bolster the Fighting Hawks' frontcourt.

The freshman quartet of Carter Evens, Jayden Moore, DeAngelo Dungey and Sage Hanson will look to make an impact in their first collegiate seasons.
