CHARLESTON, S.C. – The North Dakota Softball team closed out their weekend with a second game against the Massachusetts Minutewomen, falling in another close game 2-0. Makaela Carr went 5.2 innings for UND but took the loss to drop to 0-2 on the season, while Natalee Horton (1-1) got the win.
The Fighting Hawks had their best scoring chance in the bottom of the sixth inning as Katie Joten and Madi Moore both got one out singles before moving to third and second, respectively, on a groundout, but neither were able to come in to score.
Carr threw 5.2 innings on the day, allowing four hits and two runs (one earned) while fanning six batters. Camryn Lasota came in in relief and threw 1.1 innings and picked up two strikeouts.
